The Accu-Chek Active Glucometer is a compact blood glucose monitoring device designed for routine blood sugar testing at home. It uses a photometric measurement method to determine glucose levels in a blood sample applied to a compatible test strip.
The device features a large LCD display that shows blood glucose readings in an easy-to-read format. Its no-coding technology eliminates the need for manual coding of compatible test strips, making routine testing more convenient.
The meter requires a small blood sample of approximately 1–2 µL and provides results in approximately 5 seconds when blood is applied with the strip inserted into the meter. When blood is applied to a strip outside the meter, the measurement takes approximately 8 seconds.
The Accu-Chek Active includes underdose detection, a visual double-check feature, and a 10-second re-dose option that allows additional blood to be applied to the same test strip within the specified time if the initial sample is insufficient. It also supports pre-meal and post-meal markers and post-meal reminders.
The device stores up to 500 blood glucose readings with date and time and provides averages over 7, 14, 30 and 90 days. It operates using a CR2032 3V lithium battery and includes a USB interface for data transfer.
